I published a benchmark. Two weeks later the same code ran 2.5x faster.

Same machine, same script, same Chrome flags. I reported 2.3 seconds per render as a stable constant. Today it measured 0.93. The number wasn't wrong so much as it was never a constant.

I compared 68 posts of quality data against 60 posts of engagement data and published it. A reader caught the mismatch. The cause was a page size I read as a limit, and the output was telling me the whole time.

My linters have never found a real bug in my posts. Readers have found two.

I run three automated checks before anything publishes. In two weeks, readers found two defects in code I'd already shipped. The gates caught neither, and it isn't because the gates are bad.
