arckerThe fixed point: a compiler written in its own language just reproduced itself, byte for byte
Verbose is a small proof-carrying language whose compiler is written in Verbose itself. Its self-hosted emitter, fed its own 855 KB source, produced a binary bit-identical to the one that built it — gen1 == gen2, same sha256, same 1,302,980 bytes. The classic self-hosting fixed point, its strongest form. Here's what that means, and the failure — misdiagnosed, then actually understood — that almost stopped it.

AshrafClaude Just Rewrote 1M Lines of Bun in 11 Days. Zig's Creator Called It "Unreviewed Slop." Both Are Right.
Anthropic's Bun team used 64 parallel Claude agents to port 535K lines of Zig to over a million lines of Rust in 11 days for $165K. It passed every test. The Zig creator is furious. Here's why that's the correct reaction — and also why the rewrite is the future.

KunalRust Allocator: jemalloc vs mimalloc vs tcmalloc for P99 [2026]
Allocator switching can cut P99 latency in Rust services. It can also do absolutely nothing. Here’s how to benchmark it like an adult and tune jemalloc without cargo-culting.

Pong just shipped v0.0.1 — a lightweight menu-bar app (Tauri + Rust) that pre-warms your Claude session on a schedule, shows a live usage dashboard with a real-time reset countdown, and runs a synthetic health check instead of a ping. Here's the productivity case for it.
